It is common knowledge the current trend of developing and testing products accrued from natural plants. On that premise, Stryphnodendron adstringens (Mart) Coville highlighted was aim for evaluating its antibacterial effect on dental caries. A crude dried methanolic extract prepared applied 50 to 500 mg/mL determine Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) seven distinguished bacterial cultures. Results revealed by 0.01% resazurin demonstrated exerted all tested strains, with MIC > 250 Lactobacillus casei, Streptococcus mitis salivarius 400 Enterococcus faecalis, mutans, sanguinis sobrinus.
